Mourinho proud of his players

Jose Mourinho stated that he is proud of his Manchester United players following the draw against Arsenal. He said that his players were ready to fight on the pitch and they created enough opportunities to win the game. He said that this is a good performance especially during this difficult period that the team has been through.

The Portuguese manager chose to leave Lukaku as well as Pogba on the bench as he wanted to bring in more fighting spirit in the team. He said that the players that he has chosen have not let him down and that they have given their best on the pitch.

Jose Mourinho said that Arsenal had the luxury of leaving out some key players during the Europa League game and that they could not afford to do that. He said that this was the main difference between the two teams and that they could have won the game on another occasion.

The Portuguese manager said that the team is making progress slowly and that they will need to buy new players if they want to compete with the teams around them. He said that there is no way that Manchester United will be able to win the title if they do not invest in new players. He said that teams such as Liverpool and Manchester City have been investing massively in new players and this is why they are challenging for the title.

Mourinho believes that the team will have to strengthen during the January transfer window if they want to have a chance of making it into the top four. He said that it will be a difficult season and that the players will have to work hard and give their best on the pitch if they want to qualify for the Champions League.
