Romelu Lukaku refuses to compare Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has refused to compare between Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the aftermath of the club’s 3-1 triumph over Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round. The Belgium international has generally been a bench warmer under the guidance of Ole but he was handed a rare start at the Emirates where he grabbed the man of the match with a couple of assists.

Speaking after the game, Lukaku was asked to compare the managerial qualities of Mourinho and Ole but he happened to restrict himself from doing so. He added that he has plenty of respect for the recently departed Mourinho, who brought him to Old Trafford in the first place, he said:“I’m not going to compare the two managers. I believe that Mourinho has done a lot for his club. He won trophies, so I have a lot of respect for him. He is the coach who signed me.”

Mourinho proud of his players

Jose Mourinho stated that he is proud of his Manchester United players following the draw against Arsenal. He said that his players were ready to fight on the pitch and they created enough opportunities to win the game. He said that this is a good performance especially during this difficult period that the team has been through.

The Portuguese manager chose to leave Lukaku as well as Pogba on the bench as he wanted to bring in more fighting spirit in the team. He said that the players that he has chosen have not let him down and that they have given their best on the pitch.

Mourinho wants more time

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants some time in order to improve the team. He admitted that his team has had some bad results but he believes that they have been playing well.

He said that they dominated the first half against Tottenham Hotspurs but unfortunately for them, they could not manage to score.

Mourinho on pre-season

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said that the World Cup is disrupting his pre-season program. He said that most of his players have been on international duties for their countries and that they have been given some extended vacation.

He said that this will definitely affect his pre-season and that there is no doubt that Manchester United might suffer at the start of the season.

Mourinho Feels Sanchez Came ‘Cheap’

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho feels Alexis Sanchez’s transfer came ‘cheap’. Sanchez has started on a brilliant note as expected. He featured in the 4-0 win over Yeovil Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup, winning the Man of the Match award.

 

United had to offer a superior contract to the Chile international to get him to move to their side instead of Man City that he had been linked to for close to two years. United did a straight swap deal, getting Sanchez and releasing Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal. Sanchez is expected to significantly boost the attacking prowess of United in the concluding part of the season. He showed his class in the Yeovil game where he grabbed two assists. MOURINHO: BRISTOL CITY WERE “LUCKY”

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said that Bristol City were lucky to have gotten the winner in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup when they clashed on Wednesday. City ran away 2-1 winners due to a late goal in stoppage time by Korey Smith.

From the start of the game Lee Johnson’s side showed that they were not going to ‘park the bus’ against United. They showed courage and wanted to win the game, and they did. The first half ended in a barren draw but before the hour mark Joe Bryan opened scoring with a left foot shot, sending thousands of fans at Ashton Gate into frenzy.
