Wayne Rooney stated that the full-credit should be going to Roy Hodgson, who was brave enough to make the changes. He said that it is never easy to change a team at half-time and that the England manager should be given the credit for what he has done. The Manchester United captain said that England dominated the game from the start, and they kept creating occasions but unfortunately they conceded against the run of play. Despite conceding the goal, he believes that the team did not lose heart and continue to press Wales for an equalizer.
He said that it was a great victory for England and that he wished that Wales win their next game and get out of the group. He believes that they have quality players and that they could go far in the competition.
