Solksjær Hails His Players’ Ruthlessness Following Huge Southampton Win

Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær has praised his players after they put in an emphatic performance to brush aside Southampton at Old Trafford in their Premier League clash on Tuesday night. The Red Devils sealed a remarkable 9-0 victory after the Saints saw one of their players sent off early in the first half with Alexandre Jankewitz receiving his marching orders after just two minutes into the game.

The United boss insisted that his side deserved the win after they played the game properly and according to plan. Aaron Wan-Bisakka was the scorer of the first goal before Marcus Rashford found the back of the net after welcoming a sublime pass into the Saints’ 18-yard box. Jam Bednarek put the ball in the back of his own net to gift United a third goal before Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani scored a fourth.

Anthony Martial silenced his critics with a beautiful Brace after initially struggling in his last few games. Midfielder Scott McTominay was also involved in the scoring spree the scoring after lashing in a sublime shot into the net. Bednarek suffered yet another misfortune as he conceded a penalty by fouling Anthony Martial in the box. He endured an even more awful night after also receiving his marching orders at the 86th minute, reducing Southampton to nine men.

Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes slotted home the penalty to make the score 7-0 and then went on to provide an assist for Welsh winger Daniel James who came on to replace Rashford after 60 minutes.

The win excited Solksjær who spoke after the game and said he was thrilled with his side’s performance and how they were able to get the job done in such sublime form.
