PREMIER LEAGUE TRIO KEEN ON PHILIPS

Three major Premier League teams are in the race to sign England international Kalvin Philips from Leeds United. Manchester United and Manchester City had previously been reported as major Premier League teams interested in signing the 25-year-old Englishman. West London giants Chelsea have now joined Manchester City and Manchester United in the race to sign the Leeds United star.

The interest of Chelsea in Philips was confirmed by the Si & Dan Talk Chelsea Podcast. It was disclosed that the immediate past European champions are major contenders for Philips. The Blues have joined Manchester United and their city rivals, Manchester City in the race to sign the England midfielder.

Philips has been at Leeds United for 12 years. He has been at the club since his team years. Recently, the England international was asked about his long-term future at Leeds United. The Englishman told BBC Radio Leeds that he wants to stay at Elland Road and his focus is on that until the end of his contract at the club.

England international Philips has 14 goals and 13 assists in 234 games for Leeds United in all competitions since he started playing for the first team. Also, he has 20 caps for the Three Lions of England. He was a starter for England as they reached the Euro 2020 tournament last summer before they lost to Italy on penalties in the final. The Leeds United midfielder made his return to the England squad as a substitute for the final eleven minutes of the 1-0 loss at the Puskas Arena, Budapest. Dominik Szoboszlai scored a second half penalty to give Hungary a 1-0 win at home to England. He missed the past few England squadsdue to injury. Philips missed a lot of football for Leeds United during the latest league season.
